Distance, latency, bad handoffs, systems that won’t talk to each other — every one of them sits between someone and the thing they need. The Ington Group is a software development and infrastructure company built to take them down.
What that means in practice
Most barriers aren’t dramatic. They’re a network that takes the long way around, a platform that won’t hand over its own data, a vendor who stops answering after the contract is signed. Small things, and then nothing moves.
At our core, we’re a broker of trust. We bring clients together with the right networks, the right safeguards, and the right standards — and then we get out of the way. Whether the data moves between a stadium and a stream, a database and a model, or a client and their partners, the goal is the same: it gets there quickly, it gets there safely, and it stays where it belongs.
How we got here
We didn’t start with a strategy deck. We started with one server that had to stay up, and kept taking on the next barrier in front of us.
- 2019
First Minecraft server sold
It starts with one game server and one customer who needed it to stay online. The lesson stuck: somebody is always waiting on the other end of a connection.
- Fall 2021
IngtonMC launched
A hobby became an operation. IngtonMC turned a handful of servers into a real platform — provisioning, uptime, support — and taught us how to run infrastructure other people depend on.
- Spring 2022
Sonoma Communications launch
Our first brand outside of gaming. Sonoma took what we knew about keeping people connected and pointed it at voice, video, and messaging for businesses that can’t go dark.
- Spring 2023
ByteWorks partnership
The engineering bench arrived. ByteWorks gave us the ability to build the software our clients run their businesses on — not just the pipes underneath it.
- Summer 2024
Broadwave acquisition
Broadwave brought transport, peering, and delivery into the Group, and with it the reach to move very large amounts of data between very far-apart places.
- Fall 2025
Transition to a managed services platform
Three brands, one way of working. We moved from delivering projects to running them — a managed platform where the networks, the software, and the support are ours to keep working, not just ours to hand over.

The future
More barriers are still standing than we’ve taken down. We intend to keep going until the distance between a person and what they need stops being a technical problem.
